相繼從 Mr.6 與 Jas9 的 Blog 看到關於個人化首頁的介紹, 也想說說我的看法..
個人化首頁從 Netscape 開始, 經過網路泡沫的洗禮, 現在又捲土重來..

以 Netvibes 為例, Netvibes 可以自選不同的 content, 嵌在你想要的網頁位置, 以後每次一開瀏覽器, 你就可以直接將想知道的資訊一口氣看完..
大部分 Netvibes 的 content 是以 list 格式 (rss feed, emails, ...) 為主, 所以某些方面看, 這就像是 feed reader 的變形..

我對個人化首頁的質疑, 最主要不在個人化, 而是在首頁.

我可以理解這種把所有東西放到首頁的想法, 但, 把瀏覽器展開後就是全螢幕這麼大, 每個人關心的東西這麼多, 真的裝的下嗎?
這就像其實我想要開六個 Word 視窗, 但是因為桌面有限, 所以我就把他們水平垂直排好..
這樣真的可以同時閱讀或編寫 Word 嗎? 大部分人的答案應該是不行, 我們還是習慣把她們全部展開成為最大化, 再分別編輯她們..

當然用 Word 的舉例或許比較超過, 但我的感覺是這樣, 個人化首頁太過簡化內容了, 但我們常常需要除了那個 list (rss feed, email list, ...) 之外的其他東西..
為了這些除了 feed 之外的其他部分 (像 digg count, ...), 我還是需要去開啟這些網頁..

假設我不管那些除了 feed 之外的其他內容, 也就是把個人化首頁當成一個可以閱讀各種 feed 的地方, 那我可能還是比較喜歡 feed reader 如 rojo, bloglines, ...
反過來, 若個人化首頁只是一個看看標題的跳板, 那也失去他的意義..

另外, Netvibes 雖然可以個人化你的首頁, 但卻沒辦法紀錄你的使用資訊, 如哪個 feed 我看完, 那個 content 我看一半等等..
這樣每次一開都是看到最新資訊而已, 也沒什麼用..

所以對我而言, 個人化首頁反而變成很炫但不實用的產品..
用了一段時間, 就會想回到 bookmarks + feed readers + del.icio.us + furl 的懷抱..

這是一篇寫在前面的文章, 因為 Netvibes 還繼續 beta 中, 或許我們只看到他們目標中的 1/10 而已..
等到正式上線了, 也許全部都不一樣了, 到時我再補寫一篇新的感想文吧~~

試用過Netvibes以及Google的個人化首頁，還是不習慣 ^_^

我希望的「個人化首頁」概念比較像「瀏覽器的桌面」，
不一定提供我什麼news或是feeds，但是可以讓我很快的執行
我要的工作，也就是滑鼠不用移到工具列就可以在首頁開啟
bookmark、開啟常用的資料夾、google一下資料或是wikipedia，
所以目前我就是用一個在本機的網頁來當首頁來達成我上面部份的需求。

我覺得 flock 將常用的 web 服務整合進瀏覽器的概念, 跟你提的方式有點像喔~~
